Guidelines and Process:
|
Some of this was covered in the popup that leads here, but be sure to PLEASE READ THIS PAGE. By purchasing, you state you have read and agree to all DETAILS, TERMS, and DISCLAIMER and the GUIDELINES AND PROCESS informational sections. For eBay bidders/buyers, section 3 on payment can be ignored. *NOTE: The "Royal We" is employed throughout this document, one, because it's fun and pretentions, and two, because some steps in this process are handled by assistants employed here. While oneGemini Studios does employ a few assistants to help with studio work, such as (but not limited to) accounting, packaging and shipping, cutting of paper/board, preparation of said surface, purchasing of supplies, cleaning, etc., these assistants DO NOT create the artwork. A few past worry-wort clients were concerned that "non artists," in one's words, were making the artwork, and Blair did nothing but supervise. Blair is not that big of an artist to be able to pay others to do the work for him (Jim Davis, ahem). Let's be realistic, people. Is that clear now? Good. Let's get to it, then. 1. First you need to email us to tell us the subject. Subject is pretty open. Look at our site and our individual samples. You'll see our strong points, tho' we're willing to try almost anything. However, we will not do hardcore nudity, sex acts, or nudity or sex involving anthros. We will not accept any commission ideas that defame a character or property or otherwise portray a character in unsavory way (such as racist and other hate situations, attacks on any real-world individuals, or attacks on companies and publishers of said characters). If you're not sure if you're idea fits these criteria, email us before you buy. We reserve the right to refuse to create images we see as too explicit, and we will not refund those who chose to disregard these statements and purchase anyway. 2. BE SPECIFIC. We hate doing sketches after people tell us "you do what you think looks best," then hearing when they get the sketch "that's not what I was thinking." We are not mind readers. You must tell us what you want, not what you sorta want. We can take care of some of the creative aspects. If you insist on having us create the image from the ground up, you agree to not interfere with the process after it's started, and to accept whatever the final result may be, though we will do our best to produce an impressive piece of artwork regardless. If there is a certain pose for a character or situation you want, tell us that too. We do portraiture also, so if you want a celeb, or a friend painted/drawn, you'll need to provide us with reference (though in the case of a more famous celebrity, we should be able to find it ourselves. Same goes if you name a comic character we don't know much about). Don't get too complicated with layout, or you might have to sketch it out for us so we know what's supposed to be happening in the image. 3. Next, payment. After determining what you want (character(s), pose, layout, medium, etc.), we will send you a Paypal invoice with total charge of the image, plus shipping charges determined by your shipping address and weight of piece and packaging (if applicable). We then expect full payment within seven (7) days of reciept of invoice via PAYPAL ONLY. 4. Upon receipt of payment, we'll start on a rough sketch stage. When it is finished, we will either send you a URL to the sketch, or send the image as an attachment to an email. Get back to us with your opinion ASAP. We will redraw the sketch only ONCE (as in we send you a sketch, you tell us change this, we do. That's once.). If you want more redraws, it will cost you an extra $50 per re-sketch. We try to nail it on the first try from your description, and if we don't, we hope to fix all the bugs with the second. After that point, anything you don't like is wasting our time and yours. Most people have a good idea of what they want BEFORE they buy. We cannot wait for someone who is changing things on the menu after their food has been ordered. 5. After approval, Turnaround time can be an average three to five months depending on studio workload. Delays may arise if progress on commission work must be put on hold due to artist's contractual obligations. We are not responsible for any delays on the part of the U.S Postal Service or similar shipping entity We're sure no one wants us to rush these. If you wanted hackwork, we're very sure you can go elsewhere and spend less money for something that looks like it took an hour. IF AT ANY TIME YOU CHOOSE TO SCRAP OR CANCEL THE PROJECT, THERE WILL BE A 50% OF PRICE KILL FEE AFTER STEP 4, AND 100% KILL FEE AFTER STEP 5. At this point we have already made room in our schedule for your project and procured the proper supplies. This means we have possible turned down other similar projects to make time for yours. Our time, like yours, is money, and you have already used our time. We thank you for your understanding. We reserve the right to change these DETAILS, TERMS, and DISCLAIMER and the GUIDELINES AND PROCESS at any time without prior notice. If you have any other questions, just ask. Thank you, and we hope we can work together. ~Blair D. Shedd oneGemini Studios All prices here reflect images created for personal collections and art collection websites.
